From the front, the chair presents as a cohesive, one-tone silhouette — refined, balanced, and inviting. But a closer look reveals intentional artistry in its construction. Every component — from the arms to the legs to the crest rail — was hand-selected and carefully laid out before a single cut was made to ensure the lighter sapwood and darker heartwood appear in harmony on both sides of the piece. This is most striking in the arms, where heartwood and sapwood sit side by side, with the sapwood positioned as the outermost lateral edge. Together, these mirrored elements create a subtle yet powerful sense of bilateral symmetry, grounding the design in visual balance.
